“Hyperconnectivity has become a symptom of our rapidly-evolving and ever-changing technological world. But even a digital link does not ensure a real bond. Photography has been, since its inception, a nexus between people, experiences and unseen worlds. How does photography help us find a sense of community and belonging today? How does analog media connect us to ourselves, our physical surroundings and the people around us?”
Nexus gives us the chance to demonstrate the power of connection and community through visual storytelling. In a world so overwhelmingly run by digital culture, we invite you to escape for the evening and enjoy the works of over 30 artists.
Workshops
Join us on Saturday, September 26th for a unique workshop led by Savannah-based photographer and community organizer Joshua Lindsey.
Co-Founder of SHADE Magazine, the Savannah Photo Club and Park Vibes, Joshua Lindsey will talk environmental and urban photography, experimenting with layout and design, and finding a sense of direction.
Bring a body of work of 8 to 10 images and have one-on-one time with Josh to review it.
As a cultural and community organizer, Josh’s work goes beyond the image: it seeps into his community and networks, impacting the way in which people collaborate, organize, and come together.
