  • Hyperconnectivity has become a symptom of our rapidly-evolving and ever-changing technological world. But even a digital link does not ensure a real bond. 

    Photography has been, since its inception, a nexus between people, experiences and unseen worlds. How does photography help us find a sense of community and belonging today? How does analog media connect us to ourselves, our physical surroundings and the people around us?

  • While the primary focus of this call is analog photography, we welcome an expanded interpretation of “analog media” — work that incorporates a tactile, physical, or hands-on process at any stage, whether in the capture (film, alternative processes), the object (sculpture, collage), or the translation into a final image (scans, physical manipulation, hybrid analog-digital processes). 

    • File naming convention: LastName_FirstName_ImageTitle

    • Image must be 1200 pixels on the longest side and 10 MB maximum

    • Work does not have to be framed, but it must be delivered ready to install. 

    • Each $25 entry fee covers up to 5 artworks. Artists may submit multiple entries, each with its own fee, if submitting more than 5 artworks.

    • Apply by: August 23rd

    • Notification of Acceptance: August 26th

    • Artwork Dropoff: September 11-12th

    • Opening Reception: September 25th

    • Last Day to View: October 9th

    • Pickup: October 10th

    • Copyright remains the property of the artist. 

    • By submitting to this call, artists grant Camaleón permission to use submitted images for jurying, promotional, and archival purposes related to this exhibition. Full licensing terms will be included in the Participation Agreement for selected artists.

    • Payment of the $25 entry fee is non-refundable and does not guarantee exhibition of work submitted. 

    • Sales: Upon sale of Artist’s artwork, Camaleón will take a 30% commission on the Artist’s retail price.

    • Artwork Dropoff & Pickup: If selected, the artist agrees to drop off and pick up artwork on the selected dates (September 11 & 12, October 10).

    • Selected artists will be required to sign a Participation Agreement outlining full terms prior to exhibition.
